Train Muay Thai long-term in Thailand with the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) — the perfect long-stay visa for fighters, fitness enthusiasts, and remote workers.
An excellent option for those looking to train Muay Thai in Thailand for an extended period without the hassle of frequent visa runs. Khao Lak Muay Thai is here to help you with the required documents, guide you every step of the way, and welcome you into the family.
Important — DTV applications from 31 August 2026
You must apply through the official Thai e-Visa site (thaievisa.go.th) from a country where you are a citizen or permanent resident. Applications from a third country you are only visiting are no longer accepted.
You must also upload a police clearance / certificate of criminal record issued by your country of nationality or the country where you apply.
Booking training with us, and the enrolment letter we issue, has not changed. Always check the checklist of the Thai embassy or consulate that will review your file — some missions want the police certificate issued within 3 months, others within 6.
Thailand has introduced the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) — a modern, flexible, and cost-effective visa for digital nomads, remote workers, freelancers, and those wanting to train Muay Thai or participate in other Thai Soft Power activities.
Exact formats, translations, and how recent the police certificate must be vary by embassy. Confirm the checklist of the mission that will decide your file before you apply.
Khao Lak Muay Thai (Khao Lak Muay Thai Co., Ltd.) is certified by the Office of the Boxing Sport Board, Sports Authority of Thailand, Ministry of Tourism and Sports as a 5-star, medium-sized professional Muay Thai camp under the Professional Muay Thai Camp Standard Criteria (2020 revised version). The current camp certificate was issued on 31 January 2024.
When you book a 6- or 9-month DTV package we prepare the gym file that Thai missions expect for the Muay Thai soft-power route. After enrollment we also request the supporting letter from the Office of the Boxing Sport Board that is sent onward to the Department of Consular Affairs and the Thai embassy or consulate handling your e-Visa.
That Board letter is the document most unregistered gyms cannot supply. Timing depends on SAT / the Board, not on a one-hour email.

The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) is a 5-year multiple-entry visa that allows an initial stay of up to 180 days per entry (extendable for another 180 days inside Thailand). It is ideal for long-term Muay Thai training while enjoying flexibility for travel, recovery periods, or combining training with remote work (under the workcation pathway rules).
At Khao Lak Muay Thai, we provide the official Letter of Acceptance / Enrollment Confirmation required for your DTV application under the Muay Thai Soft Power category. Our structured programs (stay & train packages, private lessons, group classes) meet the criteria for genuine, ongoing training.
Typical requirements (always confirm with the Thai embassy or consulate that covers you):
We guide you on the letter wording and the gym-side documents. You obtain the police certificate and residence proof yourself, because those are issued in your country. Start the police check early — some take several weeks, and some missions only accept certificates issued within 3–6 months.
The DTV expects genuine engagement in the activity (Muay Thai training). Our 6-9 month packages work well. Many students train intensively for several months and then extend or re-enter. We can adjust your schedule for recovery, fights, or travel.
Yes — the DTV explicitly supports “workcation” / remote work alongside soft power activities like Muay Thai. You cannot take local Thai employment, but remote work for overseas clients is permitted. Many of our students train full-time while managing online businesses or freelance work.
We provide step-by-step help with the gym documents and can point you to visa specialists if needed. Final approval always rests with the Thai mission.
Your initial DTV is tied to the gym listed in the application, but you have flexibility for extensions or re-entries. Many students switch focus or gyms after the first period. We’re happy to support ongoing or renewed enrollment letters.
You can extend inside Thailand or exit/re-enter (border run). The 5-year validity gives you plenty of flexibility. We help many long-term students plan their stays around training camps, fights, and rest periods.
Deposits for DTV training are refundable, minus a 5,000 Baht administration fee. This is because we immediately process your official enrollment letter and supporting documents required by the Muay Thai Authority and Thai Immigration. While our documentation has a strong success rate, final visa approval rests with the Thai embassy/consulate.
No. From 31 August 2026 you must apply from a country where you are a national or permanent resident, through that country’s Thai e-Visa mission. A short visit or tourist stay in a neighbouring country is not enough. The DTV also cannot be applied for from inside Thailand.
Official name: certificate of criminal record clearance. Examples: ACRO (UK), FBI Identity History Summary (US), National Police Check (Australia), Führungszeugnis (Germany). One certificate is enough — from your nationality country or the country where you apply. Check your mission for the accepted issuer and how recent it must be (commonly 3 or 6 months). If the original is not in English or Thai, add a certified translation.
Students can supplement their training with extra Private Lessons but unfortunately we cannot exchange pre-paid Group Classes to Private lessons. We have an agreement with Immigration and Sports Authority Thailand about the format and duration of our Muay Thai courses which does not allow for Private Lessons

“I trained with Khao Lak Muay Thai for a full year and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The DTV program gave me the perfect balance between serious technical training and enjoyable sessions. My roundhouse kicks, clinch work, and conditioning improved dramatically. The trainers are patient, professional, and push you exactly the right amount. Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, the atmosphere is motivating and the progress is very visible. Highly recommended if you want real results!”

“After one year in the DTV program at Khao Lak Muay Thai I can honestly say my Muay Thai has reached another level. The daily training structure is excellent — great mix of technique, pads, sparring and strength & conditioning. The trainers really take time to correct your form and explain the details. I came as an intermediate and left feeling very confident in my skills. The gym has a great community vibe and the location is perfect. Best training experience I’ve had in Thailand!”
